Our twitter account

We have created a Twitter account for our artist to promote their new album. We thought this was a great way to engage with fans, and keep them up to date with new music, new videos, tours etc. Below are a few screenshots of their twitter account:

Music video questionnaire

Person 1
1. What part/s of the music video stood out for you the most?

"I liked the lip syncing and how in sync it was. I also loved the way the character's eyes changed."

2. Is this music video easy to understand or a challenge?
"A bit of both."

3. In your opinion, is there a link between the lyrics and our narrative?
"I would say that there is as I could understand the connection between the two."

4. Does the music video appeal to you enough for you to watch it more than once? Why?
"I would definitely watch it more than once. I loved the effects."

5.Would you say this is a typical music video for our genre? (Dubstep/Electronic)
"Kind of, it is a little bit different and unique though."

6. What could we improve on?
"In my opinion, I like it the way it is."

Person 2
1. What part/s of the music video stood out for you the most?
"I would say the bit that stands out the most is the candles...I loved that!"

2. Is this music video easy to understand or a challenge?
"Quite easy to understand."

3. In your opinion, is there a link between the lyrics and our narrative?
"I think the link between the video and the lyrics is really there and understandable."

4. Does the music video appeal to you enough for you to watch it more than once? Why?
"I think I would definitely watch it again because there are so many different locations which makes it interesting to the eye."

5.Would you say this is a typical music video for our genre? (Dubstep/Electronic)
"I do think it fits the genre especially with the mix of tones and lights!"

6. What could we improve on?
"The only thing I would say is there was one bit where you were running through the forest that was in bright colours which I thought would have been more effective in a darker light. Also, more candles could have been used as I liked those bits."

Person 3
1. What part/s of the music video stood out for you the most?
"I liked the candles in the form of a heart at the beginning, the change of eyes and the burning photo."

2. Is this music video easy to understand or a challenge?
"You can tell that you were a couple and that you had broken up. It was clear that you were messed up in the head afterwards as well."

3. In your opinion, is there a link between the lyrics and our narrative?
"You looked like you wanted to kill someone when it says 'going in for the kill' and the 'now let go of my hand' when your hands slipped away."

4. Does the music video appeal to you enough for you to watch it more than once? Why?
"I thought it was really clever and interesting to watch."

5.Would you say this is a typical music video for our genre? (Dubstep/Electronic)

6. What could we improve on?
"The part where she pushes her boyfriend seems a little fake."

Person 4
1. What part/s of the music video stood out for you the most?
"I like the bit in the lift, the reverse shot of the cars and the bit with the trees at 1:50, they're quite fun and interesting."

2. Is this music video easy to understand or a challenge?
"I think it's easy to understand. It is definitely about a boy and girl falling in love and portraying the ups and downs of their relationship."

3. In your opinion, is there a link between the lyrics and our narrative?
"Yeah, I think the bit with the photo burning is good because the lyrics are talking about fire/desire. The bit with the woods is good because she's singing about being left out for too long."

4. Does the music video appeal to you enough for you to watch it more than once? Why?
"Yes, I've watched it a few times now, it has some interesting shots and it's nice to see a music video with some correlation to the lyrics of the song, not all of them do nowadays!"

5.Would you say this is a typical music video for our genre? (Dubstep/Electronic)
"I think the bits with the flashing colours are good for dubstep because they fit with the music which is quite vibrant and fast paced at points."

6. What could we improve on?
"I didn't really understand the bits with the candles?"

Person 5
1. What part/s of the music video stood out for you the most?
"I really like the first part where it's in slow motion when she hugs her boyfriend at 7 seconds."

6. What could we improve on?
"I have no criticisms, I really enjoyed it."

Final Digipak

Front and back cover

Left and right inside

This is my finalised digipak, and I'm thrilled with the outcome! I screenshot parts of our music video and inserted them into paint to create it. I wanted my digipak to reflect our music video; dark, scary and unusual. I like the fact it's simplistic, and easy read as this will draw our audience in. I like the negative effect used in the inside of my digipak as this looks unusual, and I wanted to make my digipak stand out from the ones already in shops. I wanted to make the track list almost seem like it's written on the fence. I thought it was essential to have the artist on the front of the digipak so the audience can see who the artist actually is.

First draft

This is the first draft of our music video, yesterday we thought we had finished, however we feel we may need to tweak a few things.

Finally finished!

Me and Alyce have finally finished editing our music video and we are thrilled with the outcome! After months of blood, sweat and tears we are over the moon that we have finished and that our video looks appealing. We included various angles such as canted angles, low angles and close ups. We had a great beat to edit to; this enabled us to make our video choppy. I like how we challenged the conventions of a typical break up video, and added a scary element.

We only have a minute left

With only 4 days to go until the deadline for our music videos, we only have 1 minute left to go until we're finished! This morning we've added shots of Alyce in the forest, it looks really effective as the miss-en-scene is dark and spooky, portraying her state of mind.
